The brewery at The Scruffy Dog has been part of the pub since 2017, and from the very beginning our aim has been simple: to brew honest, well-made beer that belongs in a proper pub.

As an independent freehouse, we have complete freedom over what we brew and how we brew it. There are no contracts, no tied brands, and no pressure to produce beer to fit a template. Every real ale and lager we make is brewed on site, in small batches, with quality, balance, and drinkability always coming first.

The Scruffy Dog Brewery exists to support the pub, the community, and the simple pleasure of a well-brewed pint. Whether you’re a real ale enthusiast, a lager drinker, or just curious to try something brewed on site, you’ll always find beer made with care, independence, and pride.
